The telecom minister urged business leaders to transform business digitally

Noting that a systematic change in trade and commerce is essential to meet the challenges ahead, Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar said the days of showroom-based trade are almost over. Corona has initiated a radical change in the expansion of the ultra-digital business. He called on the people concerned to come forward to adapt to the change. The minister made the call while speaking as the Chief guest at a virtual meeting on Saturday night on the crisis of the IT technology business in Lockdown and the ways of overcoming the situation. The Minister said that the whole world has been combating the ongoing COVID situation, but Bangladesh has been able to continue a relatively normal lifestyle due to the expansion of the digital infrastructure of the Digital Bangladesh program. In this situation, government and non-government organizations are not functioning without IT devices, he said, adding that the government has included telecom, internet and postal services under emergency services. He said the benefits would be reaped if digital product delivery and sales organizations could be brought under the digital platform. Calling on the BCS to come forward in this regard, Mustafa Jabbar said the BCS should have an alternative platform. In this regard, the four-time president of BCS Mustafa Jabbar expressed his firm hope that all possible cooperation would be extended to utilize the 9,000 offices and huge manpower of the postal department across the country. He said Digital Bangladesh is now visible and the concept will be implemented upfront. Digital devices too will be transformed into a continuation of this. Noting that the market for digital devices in the country has expanded a lot, the minister said there are about four crore students in the country, each of whom will need a digital device. So we have to bring changes in the market strategy. At this time, the Minister expressed his sincere commitment to render all possible cooperation to bring digital device products and services to the doorsteps of the people. SM Iqbal, Former President of BCS, media personality Mozammel Babu, BCS leaders Safkat Haider, Sabur Khan, Monirul Islam, Mujahid Al Biruni and others spoke on the program while BCS President Shahid Ul Monir presided over the meeting.
